Manchester United have completed their Europa League last-16 tie with an aggregate 7-1 victory over LASK at the Old Trafford yesterday.

The Red Devils now go into the eight-team mini-tournament in Germany to finish the Europa League.

United face FC Copenhagen in Cologne on Monday after the Danes overturned a 1-0 first leg deficit to beat Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir 3-0 and clinch a 3-1 aggregate victory.

Also, Inter Milan are through to the quarter-finals of the Europa League thanks to a 2-0 win over Getafe in Gelsenkirchen.

The Italian side started the game slowly and required an impressive stop from Handanovic early on to keep them level, but they soon found their stride and took the lead through Lukaku’s strike.

Molina missed a contentious penalty 14 minutes from time and Eriksen punished Getafe by doubling his side’s tally just a minute after being brought off the bench.

Shakhtar Donetsk also progressed with a 3-0 win over Wolfsburg in Kyiv, confirming a 5-1 aggregate win.

The Ukrainian champions will now play either Basel or Eintracht Frankfurt in their quarter-final tie in Gelsenkirchen on 11 August.

Meanwhile, Odion Ighalo’s incredible goal scoring run finally came to an end yesterday against LASK, which meant the Nigerian striker could not topple a Manchester United record that has stood for 95 years.

The former Watford man had scored in each of his first four competitive starts for the Old Trafford giants, a record set by Jimmy Hanson.

Hanson achieved the feat in 1925 when he scored in consecutive starts against Hull City, Blackpool, Derby County and Aston Villa, albeit, he was forced to retire following a serious injury five years later.
