A former Super Eagles star, Garba Lawal, has applauded Eunisell for initiating the Eunisell Boot award for the highest goal scorer in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Eunisell has been recognising and celebrating outstanding performers in the domestic top flight since 2018 to instil greatness in players and create awareness for the NPFL.
Enyimba forward, Chukwuemeka Obioma, scored 16 goals last season to claim the prestigious Eunisell Boot.
“The Eunisell Boot award has made the NPFL more interesting. The benefits will push attacking midfielders and strikers to focus more on goal scoring.
“It is a fantastic initiative that will lead to the improvement of the League.
“I saw the decoration of Chijioke Akuneto, who won the 2021/22 Eunisell Boot Award and it was marvelous”, said Lawal, who played domestic football for Julius Berger before leaving the country for professional football abroad and was a member of the Nigerian team that won gold in the football event at the Atlanta ‘96 Olympics.
Eunisell placed a premium value of N200,000 on each goal scored by Obioma, who will receive N3.2 million and the Eunisell Boot replica.
Obioma becomes the first Enyimba player to win the prestigious award and the eighth in the NPFL to be associated with the iconic award.
