The European Union is mobilizing €6.5m for investment in Niger Delta communities “to transform criminality and violence in the Niger Delta into opportunities.”
Head, Cooperation, EU, Ruben Alba Aguilera, stated this in Abuja yesterday when he led a delegation to the Minister of Niger Delta, Abubakar Momoh.

“We’ve been investing in the region for a long time. We’re very much encouraged by the plans, vision and the leadership that the Ministry and the new government is putting in place,” Aguilera, added.
Responding, the minister said the government had many projects and programmes ongoing in the Niger Delta to checkmate restiveness there.
