An official of the Cross River State government, Mr Austin Ibok, also said that they are still partnering the EU and ECOWAS for technical support to ensure that they prepare the ex-militants for the future destruction of arms that they surrendered.
The EU official, who pleaded not to be named, told journalists that they are willing to support the state government with opportunities for the repentant militants at the end of the biometric capture.
“It is not true that we are paying the ex-militants, but we will look at possibilities of training and supports,” he said.
