Etienying Akpanusong, a professional etiquette coach, introduced her new book, ‘My Etiquette and I’, on her birthday.
The event took place in a zoom meeting moderated by Jerry Adesewo of Arojah Royal Theatre, which was a celebration of her birthday on New Year’s Day as well as an introduction to her latest work.
About what inspired the book, Akpanusong explained that her background and the kind of training she got, which involved strict discipline from her parents, propelled her, particularly when she discovered outside her home how people could be intentionally rude.
So, she decided to put down what she has learned in writing and also acquired professional training in etiquette.
Targeted at adults and teenagers, ‘My Etiquette and I’ includes tips such as the importance of first impressions, guiding principles in making a great first impression, understanding different cultures and their etiquette, and more.
The meeting included music interludes and poetry recitations in honour of the author and three testimonials by Akpanusong’s students.
