The Chancellor of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, (ESUT), Ambassador (Dr.) Alhaji Hassan Adamu, has commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, staff and students of the institution for their unwavering commitment towards academic excellence.
Dr. Adamu, who made the commendation at ESUT’s 17th convocation ceremony in Enugu, explained that the result of such degree of cooperation had been tremendous on the university’s vision and mission.
The Chancellor, who described university education in Nigeria as a great industry central to the Nigerian economy, expressed joy that the institution was recently ranked the number one state university and 17th among all the universities in Nigeria by a Webometric survey system of educational institutions based on its quality, programmes and products.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Luke Okechukwu Anike, revealed that the management had taken steps to ensure global visibility and excellent academic rating of the university.
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, Professor Godfrey Igwebuike Onah, said that the Council together with the school’s management, took steps to plug loopholes to promote quality scholarship.
