Ese Brume won her first-ever Diamond League Meet victory in the Women’s Long Jump event at the Allianz Memorial Van Damme in Brussels, Belgium.
United States’ Quanesha Burks came in second place with a leap of 6.54 meters, and Italian Larissa Lapichino took third place with a leap of 6.52 meters. Brume won the competition with a leap of 6.83 meters.

The 26-year-old defending Commonwealth Champion has previously finished second in Doha in 2018 and Eugene in 2022, placing close to first.
The victory means she has qualified for her first Diamond League Meet final holding in Zurich next week.
Last week, she won a bronze medal in an event at the Palio Città Della Quercia meet in Rovereto, Italy.
After two attempts, the Nigerian had placed second place, jumping 6.37metres.But that was not to earn Brume a silver medal as she finished 3rd in the contest, jumping a mark of 6.53metres on her 5th attempt.
Her 6.53 metres jump was far from her record-breaking 7.00metres jump at the last Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where she won a Gold medal.
She becomes the second Nigerian alongside Tobi Amusan who have booked a ticket to be part of the Zurich final taking place next week.
It has been an eventful year for the two Nigerian athletes starting with the World Athletic Championship where Amusan won gold, and Brume got the silver medal to the Commonwealth Games in August where both nicked gold in their respective events.
