A former Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly matters, Suleiman Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to learn a lesson with the party’s performance during the recently concluded gubernatorial election in Anambra State.
Sumaila, a former House of Representatives member, said the party should learn that era of imposing candidates on the people was long gone.

The former lawmaker made the call on Saturday in a post via his Facebook account.
He said he was not particularly concerned which mode of primary election adopted by the party, either direct, as recommended by the National Assembly, or indirect, as favoured by the opposition party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
His words: “I am not very concerned about Direct primaries or indirect modes of selecting our candidates.
“But let’s be sincere and ready to do justice to ourselves (APC). The era of imposition was (sic) gone. Anambra is the best lesson for us.”
The Kano-born APC stalwart had in an earlier post expressed fear for what may become of the party
”PDP is experiencing the bitter side of the opposition which we tested for almost 16 years, we have more crises in APC but since we have a sitting president we managed our own, I Pity APC without a sitting president,” he had posted.
