The newly crowned Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Enugu Rangers have revealed plans to overhaul the team ahead of continental showpiece in the forthcoming new season.
The team’s Fidelis Ilechukwu disclosed this yesterday during a radio program in Lagos, acknowledging that fresh legs would be injected in the team to fortify it for both the country’s top-flight league and continental matches.
“What we are going to do is we have to look at the team first and how to bring players from defence, goalkeeper, midfielders and strikers.
“As a team we have many challenges in all departments. There is a department where we don’t have up to two good players and one player playing up to 15 games in the Nigeria Premier Football League which we travelled is not good for us and now we will be playing in continental and league,” he said.

He attributed the team’s success of emerging as the 2023/2024 NPFL champion as God’s help, adding that the glimpse of hope also arose to be title contender when they had a ten unbeaten games.
“After the 10 games unbeaten, I thought that we could get continental ticket but then I looked at Remo and Enyimba, I saw that it is very possible if we are serious,” he said.
He added that the ten games winning streak propelled the team’s doggedness to contend for the title squarely, saying that proper man management played a pivotal role in instilling the winning mentality in the players.
