With goals from Nwaodu Chukwudi and Augustine Kelechukwu,  Rangers won both of their first games at the Cathedral in front of their boisterous fans.

Despite the victory, the seven-time Nigeria Premier Football League champions remained unmoved on the log as they retained their 9th position with 25 points from 18 matches.

In other results, at the Umuahia Township Stadium, Abia Warriors defeated Doma United 3-0 who have now conceded three goals in a match for the second time in their NPFL history with both matches in the 2023/24 NPFL.

Experienced defender, Anaemena Ifeanyi had opened the scoring from the penalty spot just before the first half ended. It was his third goal of the season- all from the penalty spot.

In the 49th minute, Megwo Sunday finished well from Onu Emmanuel’s delightful pass to increase the lead and in the 97th minute, Ojonugwa Adejoh ensured all three points were safe in the bag.
