Enugu NUJ declares 7 days mourning for Ugwuanyi CPS

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Enugu State Council has today, Saturday declared a seven days mourning period for one its members, Uwakwe Abugu, who passed on in an Indian hospital last Monday.

The late Abugu, was until his death, the Chief Press Secretary to Enugu State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

The Enugu state Chairman of NUJ, Rex Arum said that all members of the council have to wear black band or ribbon on either their left or right hand to signify that “we are mourning our departed colleague.”

Arum said: “We have, indeed, lost a very dear member of our council, Uwakwe Abugu. And we have to mourn him for one week.
