The FCT police commissioner, CP Sunday Babaji, on Thursday, commissioned the second bath of operation G-7 joint security operatives of the command, charging them to ensure that criminal elements have no breathing space in the territory.
City & Crime had reported that the police boss in October 2022, commissioned G-7 security operatives that comprised the army, civil defence, vigilante and the police to combat violent crimes in FCT and other neighbouring/ border states to the FCT.
Sunday, while addressing the operatives at the command headquarters in Abuja, said the second phase of Operation G-7 is an improvement on the first, which he earlier commissioned.
He said the second phase, which is a product of assessment of performance of the 1st phase, would engender improved inter-agency collaboration, proactive crime prevention and law enforcement activities, and dedicated spirit on the part of the security community that will keep the FCT, and its neighbouring states, safe.

According to him, the special operation has become necessary, as part of preparations by the security community to ensure hitch-free festivities amongst other imperatives.
He, therefore, called on residents, especially stakeholders across the FCT and neighboring/border states, to always support the operatives through relevant information that will lead to arrest of criminals in their domains.
