The Nigeria Athletes Commission (NAC) has tasked the Minister of Sports, Senator John Enoh, on better welfare packages for athletes for enhanced performance.
The Commission in a statement charged the Minister to focus more on improved welfare packages for Nigeria athletes as well as upgrading and building of sports facilities across the country.
“We want to use this medium to finally congratulate you on your appointment as the Minister of Sports.
“However, we want you to focus more on the welfare package of the Nigeria athletes which, if done will in turn have a multiplier effect on the achievements of the country in all upcoming international competitions.

“It is important to note that a positive change in welfare package for all athletes and upgrading of sports facilities with a policy to see it through will put your name in the sand of time,” the Chairman of the commission, Olumide Oyedeji stated.
Meanwhile, Enoh has paid a visit to the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos while vowing to bring back the glory of the facility, which was once the pride of Africa.
“I am glad that the process towards the concessioning of the facility has gone far. If that is what it will take to restore the glory of this facility, I endorse it 100 percent.”
Enoh said the maintenance of the facilities is necessary to avoid continuous decay in the infrastructure.
“We must be careful and make something happen quickly, so that the facilities we have working, don’t fall into the same sorry state of shame,” he said.
