Energy theft: Eko Disco prosecutes 15 VGC customers

The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKED) has said that 15 residents of Victoria Garden City (VGC) in Lagos will be prosecuted for involvement in energy theft through meter by-pass.

According to the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Adeoye Fadeyibi, before now,  the whole of VGC was billed together as one customer under one meter, but following agitations by residents for individual metering, the company installed individual meters a few months ago.

Speaking further, Fadeyibi said some unscrupulous elements were out to thwart the efforts of the company but that the company would give them no room, and that the war against energy theft was yielding result as culprits were being brought to book.
