The Managing Director, Gennex Technologies, Mr Patrick Ilo, who made this disclosure at a press conference to flag off a colloquium on the prospects and challenges of renewable energy in Nigeria also, explained that most multinational companies are now embracing green energy to cut down cost.

The colloquium is scheduled to hold on August 16, 2022, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja with the theme: “Delivering sustainable energy across Africa.”

The Minister of Finance, Budget and Planning, Zainab Ahmed; Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), are among others expected to x-ray the prospects and challenges confronting renewable energy despite the fact that it is environmentally friendly.

Patrick Ilo, the firm’s Managing Director explained that Gennex Technologies is focused on revolutionising the off-grid solar and renewable energy space in the country through innovative solutions for a seamless transition to clean, renewable energy.

“One of the major challenges confronting our sectors is how to properly size and design solar solutions to make them more cost-effective and at the same time durable.

“The entire industry is not helped by the proliferation of inexperienced and unqualified “solar installers, who advise commercial, industrial and even residential customers on solutions design and sizing, and choice of inputs.

“Out of 200 million Nigerians, we are targeting to remove ten per cent of households from the national grid,” Ilo said.

On the colloquium, Ilo said its expectation is that by bringing the entire ecosystem together to highlight and distill these issues and solutions, the firm will have workable plans of action going forward.
