Many suspected looters were arrested on Sunday when security agents raided homes in Osogbo, the state capital as the dust raised by the #EndSARS protest in the state subsides.

Looted items were found and recovered from residents and the suspects were taken away.

The looting of Government and private properties was carried out on Friday and Saturday.

The suspected looters were said to have joined hoodlums who burgled government and private warehouses, retail outlets, and shops and carted valuable items away.

They started with the warehouse where the undistributed COVID-19 palliatives were kept.

The looters also broke into homes and constituency offices of Senators and members of House of Representatives and stole valuable items including brand new motorcycles meant to be distributed to constituents.

Those arrested were crying and begging the security agents.

They said they thought it was their opportunity to get their own share of ‘national loot.’

The security agents at the scene declined comments on the operation and refused to disclosed the number of suspects arrested so far.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola told Daily Trust that at the appropriate time, all those that committed offenses during #EndSARS protest, including the looters and vandals would be arrested and charged to court.
