Following the curfew declared by the Edo State Government as #EndSARS protests turned violent, armed soldiers and police personnel have taken over the streets of Benin City to ensure there is no break down of law and order.

The fierce-looking security officers were seen manning the King Square and other areas in the city while others were seen patrolling the city.

It was gathered that some youths wanted to continue the protest along the Agbor Road by setting up a road block but took to their heels on sighting the security personnel.

Army on patrol moved with a public address system, advising people to go back home as a result of the curfew in the state.

Some of the residents, who had already gone to work, were asked to return home.

The Ugbowo axis of Benin-Lagos road where protesters always mount a roadblock was deserted as the protesters were said to have taken to their heels on sighting the soldiers.
