Residents of the FCT protesting against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) have blocked off central roads in Abuja.
A gridlock has formed around Berger Roundabout, a central point for a four-way traffic in the city.
A source caught up in the blockade says it is “chaos driving from all axes to avoid the gridlock”.
It is the second day #ENDSARS protesters have caused traffic snarl in the city.
The roundabout is a cloverleaf intersection for Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway, Herbert Macaulay Way and Obafemi Awolowo Way.
Similarly, a protest is ongoing on Airport Road, leading into the city.
The protests go on despite public statements from the presidency and police authorities banning SARS.
On Monday, the Inspector General of Police announced a new tactical SWAT team to replace SARS.
Officials of the defunct SARS have been called back to the Force Headquarters for debriefing, psychological and medical examination.
