Police in Adamawa State have so far arrested 238 suspects for looting private and public warehouses.
Addressing news men in Yola on Wednesday, the Police Commissioner in the state, Olubenga Adeyanju said the suspects comprise 184 males and 54 males.
Recovered items displayed by the police include 35 tractors, 22 hand tractor hoes, 22 hand tractor hoed, 28 hand tractors12 tricycles and nine vehicles.
The mayhem started on Sunday when hundreds of youths had invaded a state government warehouse in Yola and carted away foodstuff donated to the state for onward distribution to people as palliatives for COVID-19 pandemic.
The looting then extended to other public and private warehouses and offices.
“As I speak, we have two hundred and thirty eight males and females in the state apprehended for breaking/looting government,, private and corporate warehouses in the state while fifty four were arrested for violating the curfew,” Adeyanju stated,
