Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, says his government targets training and empowerment programmes for 5,000 youths in the state, as a fallout of the #EndSARS protest.
Speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta, Abiodun said 250 youths from each of the 20 local government areas are to be captured for the programme, aimed at providing skills and capacity building for the participants.
“The programme will provide skills and capacity building as well as stipends whilst the participants are attached to small and medium scale enterprises and government agencies,” he said.
He applauded the organisers of the #EndSARS for suspending the protest and called on them to allow for the full implementation of their demands by the government.
He also faulted those claiming that governors hoarded COVID-19 palliatives, stressing that although the EndSARS protest initially delayed the distribution of CACOVID palliative in Ogun, not less than 19 of the 20 LGs in the state have benefited from food items.
