Daily Trust reports that the ancestral palace came under attack on October 21, 2020 as hoodlums carted away the Oba’s staff and destroyed properties in the palace.
Oba Akiolu was whisked out of the palace by armed soldiers in the course of the attack which was widely condemned as a desecration of the palace.
Since October 21, Oba has been living in his private residence at Lekki as the palace was renovated.
Daily Trust learnt that in line with tradition and the need to cleanse the sacrilege said to have been committed by the suspected hoodlums, certain rites were performed.
