A group of northern elders have disowned the leader of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Prof. Ango Abdullahi, over his comment that many people from the North were killed in the South East during the #EndSARS protests.
The elders under the aegis of Coalition of Northern Elders for Peace and Development (CNEPD),on Friday in Abuja, described Prof. Abdullahi’s statement as false, insensitive, and meant to instigate Nigerians against one other.

The statement signed by the group’s National Coordinator, Engr. Zana Goni and National Women Leader, Hajia Mairo Bichi, said Prof. Abdullahi acted alone and was not representing the north.
They asked Nigerians to ignore Abdullahi’s statement as it is capable of igniting ethnic violence.
