The North Central Citizens Council (NCCC) has hailed the Coalition of Northern Groups’ (CNG) for its positive efforts towards restoring peace and ensuring communal harmony amongst the northern Nigerian communities.
NCCC described CNG’s peacebuilding programmes initiatives for conflict resolution in the north and Nigeria as unparalleled in recent history.

NCCG Secretary-General, Mayomi Bidemi who stated this on Sunday in Lokoja at the sideline of dissenting voices across the country, urged other ethnic groups across the country to emulate CNG and toe the path of peace.
She said the NCG has remained the single consistent voice that speaks up for the preservation of the interest of the ordinary northerner.
She highlighted the numerous achievements that stand the CNG out to include preaching national unity, and fight against prolifration of illicit drugs and drug abuse in the North which eventually led to the ban of the addictive codeine syrup that was ravaging northern communities and households.
“The most recent fight and campaign against insecurity was also first agitated for by the Nastura Ashir Sheriff led CNG, organized the massive #EndInsecurityNow protests across the nineteen northern states simultaneously with the southern based #EndSars protests.
“And when the protests were hijacked by hoodlums and the peace of the nation came under threat, CNG was also the first group in Nigeria to condemn the act and immediately called on all members to discontinue the northern version of the protests,”
“This heroic acts by the youth in the north has made the north to enjoy peace during and after the protests which rocked the nation at large. The CNG has shown leadership, capacity and has clearly shown that they are directly in touch with the masses and common man on the streets of northern Nigeria and deserves a lot of commendation from every well meaning Nigerians who mean well for this nation.”
