The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control yesterday said the curfew imposed by the state governments to halt the looting of warehouses and destruction of property had slowed down the COVID-19 testing.
NCDC Director-General Dr Chike Ihekweazu said this in Abuja yesterday at the briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

He also said the posting of result of the center’s social media handles was halted in respect for those who died in the incidents of the past couple of days.
“We must not allow our anger trick into a situation where we head to double jeopardy. The outbreak is escalating around the world literally. We’ve held it down because of our proactive measures, the very effective airport screening we have put in place to limit the reintroduction of cases from countries where the outbreak is escalating.
“But this virus does not know whether the reasons why people are congregating. Whether you’re congregating for religious purposes, protests, partying whatever it is, this virus takes opportunity of people coming to together,” he said.
