What had seemingly been largely a peaceful protest against police brutality tagged #Endsars turned ugly on the night of October 20 when soldiers allegedly arrived at the Lekki Toll Gate, the epicentre of the protests and opened fire on protesters. The single act sprung a series of violent protests which left desolation and destruction in its wake. Many lives were lost and billions of naira was lost both by the government and private business owners.
Worst hit areas in Lagos are Lekki and Surulere as many business owners are still in shock at the magnitude of destruction visited on them by hoodlums who hijacked the situation.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of Auxell Musical Equipment company, Chukwudebelu Elochukwu Samuel whose showroom/office located in Lekki was looted it was a bad experience.
“A more factual statement is that many businesses suffered losses due to the events that occurred after the EndSars peaceful protest was hijacked by hoodlums who embarked on a looting spree around the country. We were also affected by the looting as our Lekki showroom was vandalised and the hoodlums completely made away with everything,” he said.
“This looting at Auxell Musical which happened on the same night of the Lekki Toll Gate shooting was a minor set back which was immediately followed by a 48-hour total lockdown. However, Auxell musical equipment is back in operation and stronger. We will continue to serve our customers and ensure maximum satisfaction,” the CEO added enthusiastically.
Auxell Musical Equipment which runs under the brand name of Auxell Professional Sound System was founded by Chukwudebelu Elochukwu Samuel in 2015. Growing in leaps and bounds the brand has become a top player in the industry, delivering solutions to musical needs of studio owners and musical artists.
Prompted by the boom and vibrancy of the music industry, Chukwudebelu started his business by importing musical equipment. And today his company is rated the largest musical equipment store in Nigeria.
