The Kwara State University, (KWASU), Malete, has asked the Kwara state Geogrphical Information System (KWGIS) to assist in relocating villages situated within the precinct of its land.

He said the university would not go to court over land encroachment issues but explore the advantages of it tripartite committee comprising representatives of the institution, government and host community to resolve the matter.
“Encroachment on Kwara State University lands was another challenge highlighted in my last convocation address. Currently, we are in an interface with the Kwara State Geographical Information Service to permanently address the issue.
“We have villages situated within the precinct of the university which must be relocated. There is a committee made up of the Ministry of Justice, the Kwara Geographic Information Service, the affected communities, and the university to work out whatever modality would be mutually beneficial to all concerned.
“It is our expectation that the Kwara state government would give the needed backing to the resolutions of the committee so we can secure all the landed property of the institution,” he said.
