Emzor Pharmaceuticals has unveiled a new pack for its paracetamol to mark its 30th anniversary in the market.
It also includes a television commercial which will feature all tribes in Nigeria
The management made this disclosure at an event to mark the 30th anniversary of Emzor brand of Paracetamol in the Nigerian market.
The celebration which took place at Ikoyi, Lagos, brought together those in the pharmaceutical industry in Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, the founder/Group Managing Director, Dr Stella Okoli, said her company started producing paracetamol in 1986 and has since given birth to over 100 other products.
She further said though the company worth millions, has not been listed on the stock exchange, hence her inability to determine how much Emzor is worth.
According to her, the company has over 600 paid staff, thousands of indirect staff, and commitment of Nigeria towards the paracetamol and other products, has made the brand survived all obstacles over the years.
The new paracetamol brand, said the national sales manager, Mr Folorunsho Alaran, has the same content but with a different anniversary pack.
He said that; “Our products are available, affordable and can be found in every pharmacy in Nigeria. The quality of our products is world standard.”
Emzor was recently given an international accreditation by the Standard Organization of Nigeria and has branches in Sierra Leone and Liberia, with plans to open branches in other parts of Africa.
Okoli started the business as a chemist in 1977, became an importer in 1983, got a N184,000 license, acquired land at Isolo, bought machinery and produced the first paracetamol in 1986.
