The Agaie Emirate Consultative Forum has trained 90 primary and secondary school teachers and 20 officials of the Local Education Authority on Digital Literacy and Capacity Development to enable them adopt the modern Information and Communication Technologies for effective teaching and learning.
The Chairman of the Forum, Aliyu B. Abdulmalik said the training of teachers and officials of the Local Education Authority, which focused on fundamentals of internet and information, search for business management and virtual communication tools and techniques for effective organisational growth among others was to open their minds to the advantages associated with the use of digital technologies in teaching and learning as well as general effective management of education.
The forum also trained 90 youth and women on Renewable Energy where participants learnt how to assemble, install and repair solar power system.
Abdulmalik said the training was done in partnership with the Olurains Integrated Services and Artificial Intelligence for Clean Energy Project.
The Emir of Agaie, Alhaji Yusuf Nuhu said the emirate had embarked on nurturing the youth and women as part of its efforts to combat restiveness by getting them engaged in meaningful activities that would benefit them and the society.
“We live in the digital world. And we need to open the mind of our young people to see opportunities and utilise them to be self-reliant.” He said.
