Emir threatens to sack village heads conniving with bandits

The Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Yunusa Muhammad Danyaya, has warned all traditional rulers in his domain against conniving with bandits.

The monarch, who gave the warning at an emergency meeting with them, threatened to sack anyone found wanting.

“We don’t have history of traditional rulers having links with criminals in Ningi Emirate and I become worried when we heard the report that some traditional institutions are conniving with criminals in some local government areas, including NIngi LGA.”

“We have already launched investigation committee to unravel the culprits and anyone found conniving with bandits will be fired. It is unacceptable and we are not going to work with any traditional ruler having links with criminals because it is a betrayal of the trust and whoever betrayed the trust of his people is no longer eligible to rule,” the emir said.

The traditional ruler further explained that the State Government will not tolerate any form of insubordination or complicity from any traditional ruler because the state governor has been “supporting us from all ramifications to ensure peace and development of our respective domain.”

During the last State Executive Council Meeting, Governor Bala Mohammed had alleged Monday alleged that some traditional rulers were conniving with bandits.
