The Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II has described the recent report that shows that only 16% of Kano state children completed a successful Routine Immunization (RI) as worrisome.
The Emir stated this during a stakeholder’s enlightenment campaign on RI, Nutrition, Girl Child education and safe mother and child held at Tudun Wada’ district head palace organized by Kano Emirate Council Committee on Health (KECCoH) in partnership with development Research and Projects Centre (dRPC).
Representing the Emir of Kano at the event, the district head of Tudun Wada Dr. Bashir Mohammed Dankade who was also represented by the Dan Iyan Dankadan Kano Alhaji Yusuf Mohammed Dankade stated that, the Emirate council has discovered that there is a huge gap in routine immunization in the state and that was why the council set up a health committee at different level to ensure that such recorded gap has been filled.
Similarly speaking, dRPC’s Alhaji Ubale Rano revealed that the centre has been working with KECCoH in the health sector through engaging stakeholders and community leaders in ensuring effective health service provision especially to children and mothers.
