The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, has tasked members of the Nigerian Institute of Architects to explore modern architectural designs to safeguard their profession in the country.

The Emir also urged them to always design structures that are environmentally friendly and energy-efficient, making them accessible to the people.

Emir Bamalli also acknowledged the crucial role of architects in the development of every society, especially the Kaduna chapter, as he urged them to ensure they always abide by the ethics of their profession.

The Emir, represented by the District Head of Gabasawa, who is also the Dangaladiman Zazzau, Alhaji Shittu Ibrahim Dikko, disclosed this at the Kaduna Architects Forum 1.0 organized by the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) Kaduna State Chapter with the theme “Cityscape – A New Vision for Architecture in Kaduna” held on Wednesday.

He encouraged the architects to continue collaborating with the state government and the private sector to develop the state, adding that architecture has been part of the cultural heritage of the people in the state.

“I implore you to be innovative and dream big as you create the architectural leadership in Kaduna. I commend you for organizing this forum, which will no doubt shape the future of architecture in the country,” he said.

In his remarks, former Minister of Solid Mineral Architect Musa Sada, who declared the forum open, described Kaduna as the centre of architecture in Nigeria.

He commended the organizers for a job well done and for maintaining professionalism in the profession.

In his remarks, the National President of NIA, Architects Enyi Ben-Eboh, represented by the 2nd Vice President Architect Sani Saulawa, also urged the architects to embrace modern urban architectural designs.

He assured that the outcome of the forum will not only contribute to enhancing the architectural landscape of Kaduna State but will also serve as a catalyst for economic growth, attracting investment and creating employment opportunities in the state and the country at large.
