The Emir kick-started the procession to mark the day on horseback was accompanied by members of the Emirate Council, District Heads, and Islamic clerics.

He prayed for the peace, stability and unity of the country.

Maulud, also known as Maulud al-Nabi, is an event in the Islamic calendar that commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It is observed on the 12th day of the month of Rabi’ al-awwal, which falls on a different date each year on the Gregorian calendar.

Muslims all over the world mark the occasion with processions, parades, and gatherings, often featuring recitations of poetry, hymns, and sermons.

The period is seen as a time to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings, life, and legacy, as well as to express gratitude for his guidance.

The Emir of Zazzau tasked Muslims to use the period by engaging in fervent prayers for divine intervention against banditry, kidnapping, terrorism and all form of social vices.

He also urged clerics to always unite themselves devoid of sentiments in propagating the good virtues of prophet Muhammad (SAW) of patience, religious tolerance, brotherhood and peace among the society.

Bamalli, while appreciating the peaceful and orderly conduct of the Maulud celebration, enjoined youths to combine knowledge with skills so as to reduce joblessness.
