Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has stressed the need for Nigerians to embrace skills acquisition as a prerequisite for national development.

He spoke at the commissioning ceremony of the entrepreneurship skills acquisition centre and a twin lecture theatre in Zaria and Kaduna.

He said, “Strategic investment in human capital is key to the development of any nation and that is why I am always preaching for entrepreneurship and for us to graduate from rent-seeking jobs.”

He then commended the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr Bashir Jamoh, for sponsoring 2,500 young people at the Maritime Training Institute, noting that he has empowered them for life.

“The Twin Lecture Theater donated to the Kaduna State University by NIMASA will further provide a comfortable learning environment for our students and serve as a centre for the development of competencies in the Maritime Sector at large.

The Director General, NIMASA, Dr Bashir Jamoh, noted that the NIMASA skill acquisition centre is one of the centres located across the six geo-political zones of the country.

He said higher institutions in all geo political zones of the country were benefitting from the agency under her Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects.
