It is now very clear that the Emir of Kazaure, Alhaji Ngib Husseini Adamu, could soon add to the list of private golf course owners in Nigeria. It is even said that a remarkable site for the course has since been mapped out by the contractor who is selected to construct the course.  Those who follow the Emir’s golf game at the Kano Golf Club indeed claimed that efforts of the Emir to own a course had been long over-due. The reason behind this is that the Emir is so passionate about the game to a point he has to leave his Emirate most time so he could have a round in Kano, Jos or Kaduna which are places that are a bit close to Kazaure.
The Emir, for instance plays most of his golf on Saturdays and Sundays at the Kano Golf Club, which is some 40 minutes drive from Kazaure. Often, he prefers playing with professional golfers like Kabiru Muhammed and Kamalu Bako.
His preference of going down the fairways has to do with his belief that if you play golf with ‘strong’ hands, your game must improve. This must be paying off as the Emir plays off an enviable 14 handicap.
This Handicap is well above that of his playing partner and a member of his emirate, Seriki Sanu of Kazaure who plays off a hefty 28 handicap.
The Emir doesn’t just play his game in Kano Golf Club, he does so much to assist in uplifting quality at the course, especially now that the Kano Golf Club is developing his putting greens. Besides, the Emir has a way of giving sponsorship to youths who are talented in the game. Most of category One youngsters are looking up to his sponsorship as they make to turn professional golfers.
