Emir of Kauru dies at 74

The Emir of Kauru in Kaduna State Alhaji Ja’afaru Abubakar, has died at the age of 74, after a protracted illness.

The second-class monarch who ascended the throne in 1993, Daily Trust gathered, died at the Barau Dikko Teaching hospital Kaduna on Thursday night and was buried on Friday in Kauru.

The Deputy Governor of Kaduna state, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, has led a government delegation on Sunday to condole the people of Kauru Local Government and members of Kauru Emirate Council over the death of the late Emir.

A brother and a class mate to the late emir, Mallam Sulaiman Lawal (Jarman Kauru) who described the late emir as a caring and God fearing, said he will be missed.

He said the dream of the late emir was to always to see the development of his emirate.

The late emir left behind four wives and 29 children.
