The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, on Saturday rallied support for Muhammad Kamalu-deen University (MKU), even as he described its founder as a hero.
The emir said this during the commissioning of MKU named in honour of the late pioneer Mufti of Ilọrin and founder of Ansarul Islam, late Sheikh Muhammad Kamalu-deen Aldabiy.
Bayero, who was the chairman of the occasion, praised the foresight of the late Mufti in initiating the teaching of Western education subjects alongside Arabic at his Arabic schools in Ilorin.
Represented by Pharmacist Ahmed Ibrahim Yakasai, the emir said the university has what it takes to commence the academic calendar and promised continued support for the institution to benefit the masses.

While thanking all the stakeholders for their support in the commencement of the institution, Bayero who donated N20 million during the occasion urged all to contribute to its growth.
