Sterling Bank Plc has appointed Mr. Emmanuel Emefienim as its executive director, Institutional Banking.
A statement from the bank said the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had approved Emefienim’s appointment.
With over 25 years experience in the Nigerian banking industry, Emefienim attended University of Benin (UNIBEN) where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology.
Also, he obtained two masters degrees in banking and finance and business administration respectively at University of Benin.
In addition, Emefienim attended executive courses at the Harvard Business School (HBS).
The new executive director worked in various middle and senior management roles across operations, treasury and sales.
Emefienim commenced his banking career with Oceanic Bank Plc (now Ecobank Nigeria), where he rose to the position of head, credit & marketing before joining United Bank for Africa Plc as manager, commercial banking.
Also, he worked in Savannah Bank Plc and FSB International Bank Plc (now Fidelity Bank Plc) over a period of six years before joining Equitorial Trust Bank (ETB) in 2006.
