The Permanent Secretary, Power, Ambassador Godknows Igali has dispatched a technical team to the University of Lagos (UNILAG) site, where a 300 level Accounting student, Oluchi Anekwe was reportedly electrocuted, Wednesday.
Recall reports that the late Oluchi was electrocuted when a high tension wire snapped on around the Sodeinde New Hall, on the campus.
It was also reported that the pole from which the wire fell, had been faulty for a while but unattended to, by the school management.
A statement from the Federal Ministry of Power at the weekend said the team, led by Engr. Peter Ewesor of the Nigeria Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) are now in Lagos to commence its findings.
It is expected to verify the culpable parties after which appropriate sanction will be forwarded to the industry regulator, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to deal while forestalling future cases.
