The Kwara State Police Command on Thursday received arms and ammunition ahead of the governorship and House of Assembly polls slated for Saturday.
The command’s spokesman, Ajayi Okasanmi, disclosed that the arms received included, “Pump action shotguns, long and shotgun-range riot gunners, hand grenades, rubber bullets, smoke pistols and body armour.
“Others are “PMS, diesel and utility vehicles; all in large quantities.”
He, therefore, warned, “Criminal elements and political thugs to shelve any plan to cause any breakdown of law and order before, during and after the elections.
“Any person found in one way or another trying to undermine the resolve of the command to secure the process and conduct of the exercise would be met with the full wrath of the law.”
