The People’s Republic of China has said that they will not be interfering in the general elections due to hold on tomorrow, February 23rd.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Mr. Geng Shuang made this known while addressing members of the media in a press conference yesterday.
“China always stands for the principle of non-interference in other country’s internal affairs. We believe the Nigerian government and people are capable of managing the relevant election affairs,” he said.

He also added that China “hopes and believes” that Nigeria’s presidential and parliamentary elections will be held “successfully” and “smoothly.”
Mr. Shuang also noted Nigeria’s “importance” to the development of Africa and the world at large.
