Election: Police assure of security in Ekiti

The Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, Moronkeji Adesina, has assured residents of adequate security in the elections.

He said all the entry points from Kogi, Kwara, Osun and Ondo states would be policed.

Adesina said the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, had ordered the restriction of vehicular movement across the state from 12am to 6pm on election day with the exception of those on essential services such as INEC officials, electoral observers, ambulances and firefighters, etc.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Sunday Abutu, in a press release yesterday said the order was aimed at preventing hoodlums and criminally-minded elements from disrupting the electoral process.
