Food vendors and petty traders yesterday complained of low patronage and credit purchases due to cash scarcity.

Although there was restriction of movements, some food vendors and petty traders who didn’t vote used the opportunity to make brisk sales.

But they said the low turnout affected their business during the exercise.

Speaking on the development, some of them said the situation during the last presidential and National Assembly elections was better off.

A food seller at the popular Challenge, Mrs Abigail Joshua, lamented the situation.

She said only a few of her customers transferred money into her account for food bought while others bought on credit with the promise to pay later.

“The sale is not like what we used to make before because of the low turnout and cash scarcity,” she said.

Zainab and Aisha, two food vendors at GSS Oloru, Moro Local Government Area, said sales have been abysmally low.
