Election materials were also snatched at Ofu and Idah Local Government Areas. An INEC official at one the polling units, where election material were snatched, told journalists that thugs stormed over three polling units in the area. He said they shot sporadically while carting away the election materials. He said security officer were not attached to polling units in the area.
Meanwhile, the exercise is going on smoothly in the central and west senatorial districts of the state.
Governor Idris Wada, who spoke to journalists after he was accredited at Odugoyaga, said there was no need to disrupt the election.
”As you can see, people are orderly here, but I am getting report that ballot materials have been snatched by hoodlums and thugs at Iyale, Egume and Ayingba. Security agents have been deployed to the area and I hope things would go smoothly”, he said.
