The African Democratic Congress (ADC)’s governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Senator Abdulaziz Murtala Nyako, has called on the federal government to provide security in crises areas affected by insurgency for peaceful polls.
Nyako stated this at Michika local government area while on his campaign tour.
A statement by Christopher Alu, Nyako’s media aide, urged the federal government to beef up security in northern parts of Adamawa, especially, in Madagali where insurgency had ravaged many villages.
According to him, the presence of security within the areas will remove fear and restore confidence to the electorate to vote for candidates of their choices in this Saturday presidential and national assembly election, and the governorship elections coming up in March .
Earlier, Mohammed Shuwa, former special assistant to former governor Murtala Nyako, called on the federal government to make efforts so as not to disenfranchise the electorate in the coming elections.
