AN elderly driver has miraculously survived after reversing his car off a 60ft sheer cliff into a ravine. The man’s Hyundai i20 plunged onto the beach below in New Polzeath, Cornwall, after his foot is believed to have slipped while parking to pick up his wife Monday afternoon. But incredibly, the man, from nearby Bodmin, is in a stable condition in hospital after being cut free and airlifted to hospital. He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken by lifeboat to an air ambulance, which airlifted him to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth. Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed they were called to the incident along with ambulance, air ambulance, fire service and Falmouth Coastguard/RNLI crews.
