Kaduna State Government has appointed Alhaji Muhammad Bashir Saidu as commissioner of finance.
A statement from the Kaduna Government House said Alhaji Saidu is one of the 13 commissioners cleared by the Kaduna State House of Assembly in 2015 who later took the position of Commissioner for Local Government in the first cabinet and was later appointed Chief of Staff in December 2016.
The state ministry of Finance has not had a substantive commissioner since the resignation of Suleiman Abdu Kwari who left to contest for the Kaduna North senatorial seat became effective on 7th January 2019.
Alhaji Saidu is expected to restructure and reposition the ministry for the challenges of the second term of the Nasir El-Rufai-led government.
The statement said he will be assisted in that task by Mr. Idris Samaila Nyam, the erstwhile Permanent Secretary in the ministry, who has been appointed Accountant-General.
