El-Rufai meets security agencies over Kajuru attacks

Governor Nasir El-Rufai has held meeting with security agencies and other major stakeholders, in order to find lasting peace in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna State, where some communities came under attacks recently.

The Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, Kaduna State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Yusuf Zailani, Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Balarabe Abbas Lawal, Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan and heads of military formations and security agencies in Kaduna state attended the closed door meeting on Friday.

Speaking with journalists shortly after the meeting which held at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Hon. Yakubu Umar Barde, member representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, urged the ethnic nationalities in Kajuru to embrace mutual trust for peace to prevail.

Barde said Governor El-Rufai is taking all measures to bring peace in the area, adding that Kaduna state government ‘’ is giving all the support to the security agencies to bring peace in the area”

Also speaking, Commissioner of Police Umaru Muri, said more security operatives have been deployed to the area and that the situation is now under control.

The Commissioner of Police however warned the affected communities against reprisals, adding that such ‘’ attacks will not solve the problem.’’

District Head of Kufana, Titus Dauda described the meeting as fruitful, adding that “we need peace in Kajuru. In Kajuru, we have Adara, Fulani, Hausa and other nationalities. We believe there will be peace.’’
