Traditional rulers in Ekiti State have appealed to warring politicians in the state to sheathe their sword in the interest of the development of the state.
The Chairman, Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, the Alawe of Ilawe, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, made the appeal yesterday while reacting to the recent bickering among politicians in the state.
Oba Alabi said what the state needed now was massive development that would benefit the majority of the people rather than divisive political wranglings that would benefit no one.
The Alawe said it was worrisome that some politicians had been exchanging “disturbing” information portraying Ekiti State in bad light, and advised such politicians to stop the act.
“Traditional rulers, as fathers of all, consider it expedient to tell all politicians that Ekiti needs peace and development,” Oba Alabi stressed.
