Ekiti State showers athletes, coaches with naira after 2023 NYG exploits

Ekiti State Government has rewarded all the athletes that participated at the just concluded National Youth Games, NYG, held in Asaba, Delta State.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, rewarded the athletes with N100,000, N75,000, N50,000 each for gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while those without medals in the 100 contingents got N25,000 each for participation.

All the coaches at the NYG got N50,000 each for their efforts while sports secretaries, medicals and other personnel who were at the games got rewarded.

The ceremony held at the Conference Hall of the Governor’s office was held by the  Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Communication, Mrs  Mary Omotosho and the Commissioner for Youths Development, Mr Gold Adebayo, for Governor Biodun  Oyebanji.

The greatest beneficiary of the day was an SSS 3 student, Mustapha Abdulrahman who won gold,  silver and bronze medals in golf,  got rewarded three times, while Aina Goodnews who won silver and bronze medals also got rewarded two times.

The Commissioner for Youth, Mr. Gold Adebayo expressed gratitude on behalf of the state government as he handed over envelopes to each beneficiary. He assured them that the governor’s commitment to youth development remains unwavering.

He congratulated all recipients and encouraged them to continue making the state proud through their chosen sports careers while highlighting the governor’s sports development vision.
