Ekiti pays N250m to 86 pensioners

Ekiti State Government has released the sum of N250million as pension to 86 retirees in the state.

The acting Executive Secretary of Ekiti State Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), Mr. Francis Omotoso, who gave the figure in Ado-Ekiti, explained that the N250 million would offset the outstanding balance of pension for May and June 2013.

Omotoso said that Governor Kayode Fayemi has promised to regularly release tranches of N250m to pay pensions until all outstanding retirement benefits are cleared.

The State Head of Service (HoS), Mrs. Peju Babafemi, advised the affected pensioners to be prudent with the money and expend it on veritable ventures that would improve their life.
